@cianakril You're funny. I remember how Russia had to be reminded to attack ISIS targets now and then during the early stages of their military involvement in Syria. Sure enough, ISIS didn't pose an existential threat to Assad at the time -- the rebels did. Prior to Russia getting involved, Assad had a de facto truce going on with ISIS that went as far as trading goods and services. Let's not pretend Russia was in it to defeat ISIS. Propping up Assad was the main goal, and the rebels the main enemy.
