It also bears reminding that China's initial slow response to Covid-19 went together with Chinese authorities trying to suppress Dr. Li Wenliang, who paid the ultimate price for his whistleblowing.

China has a lot of catching up to do economically, so growth rates will always be better till China starts to plateau near our level.

Merlin SG You've got be joking! China's GDP per capita (PPP) is 17,206 USD. The EU average is 44,369 USD. And that average is adversely affected by the aftereffects of decades of Communist mismanagement, just like in China's case.
