@petepowaaa The DPP emerged as the winner, that much is certain. Likewise, in other leading democracies, you very rarely see the biggest parties secure more than half of the popular vote. Recently, in the Netherlands, the winning party won 23% of the vote, and it was considered a landslide.

@ahmaddono4886 We don't mind dealing with Taiwan's cultural and economic offices and calling them embassies nonetheless. I've even done so in post-handover Hong Kong, to get myself a visa.

@ahmaddono4886 One country two systems is pretty much defunct. Whether or not the world officially recognises China at the expense of Taiwan makes little difference. Taiwan is fully in charge of its own affairs, and that's what counts.
