@alexlazar4738 Rather, Russia forgot the lessons of Afghanistan. All iterations, in fact.

@alexlazar4738 You're ignoring the fact that Russian-speakers don't equate to ethnic Russians. Try suggesting to the Irish -- or the Americans, for that matter -- that they're English on account of the language that they speak and hence, their countries should the rejoin the British Empire without further delay.

It's fitting, too, that Germany atones for its Fascist past by strongly supporting the fight against Fascism.

@mmm-mmm You got that right. Winter diesel is the norm in colder climes. In the winter, we put arctic diesel in our Leos, which can withstand temperatures below -40 degrees C. Once, I took part in a refresher when temperatures dipped to -38 degrees C. The Leopards' engines didn't miss a beat.

@ShanGamer1981 You're a doubting Thomas.

@paulgibbon5991 So far, Germany has delivered what it promised. The burden of power weighs heavily on Olaf Scholz's narrow shoulders, but as a country, Germany will do the right thing.

@mmm-mmm The Australians, who operate the Abrams as well, beg to differ. They use diesel for fuel -- as did the Americans previously. Engine reliability is reportedly unaffected. Ukraine is one of the few countries that designs and produces commercially successful jet engines. In other words, they're not lacking in expertise.

@mmm-mmm Diesel isn't suboptimal. It is said that the US tank force switched form diesel to jet fuel because diesel started to wax up at low temperatures and jet fuel was plentiful. Winter-grade diesel would've done the trick just as well.

@PlaYer-sn5or The Russian *capitalists and *industrialists -- oligarchs in other words -- would very much like to flee anywhere, but they keep having fatal accidents. It's uncanny.

@alexlazar4738 Don't be intentionally obtuse. The lesson of Afghanistan is that you can't hold on to a country with a population that's hostile (or at best indifferent) to your cause. Likewise, Russia will never subdue Ukraine. Putin is fighting an existential war in Ukraine -- Russia isn't. The sooner the Russians realise this, the sooner the war ends.

@PlaYer-sn5or What should I check about "Russia China trade"? China is clearly not sacrificing its lucrative trade relations with the West for the sake of a small-and-shrinking Russian market. China knows it can't have it both ways, so it's not shipping high-tech products to Russia for fear of having its companies sanctioned by the West as well. China is in a very comfortable place, since a weakening Russia grows only more dependent on it. It's hilarious -- Putin developed old-style imperialist ambitions with regard to Ukraine, but his Russia is now falling prey to Chinese-style neo-imperialism itself.

@alexlazar4738 Oh, we're doing conspiracy theories now. Count me out.

@MaltedJacker Who's paying back whom on account of Afghanistan?
