The point here is that the US wants to be polyamorous.

@wanglei5500 China is verifiably sending patrol aircraft to US and Japanese "backyards". China is within its rights to do, as are the other countries and their patrol aircraft with regard to the South China Sea. If you unilaterally claim a territory, expect unilateral adherence.

Exercising overflight rights in accordance with the Law of the Sea convention, dear.

OK, Krembot.

Hydrocarbons are on the way out. If not because of Russia proving an unreliable supplier, then because of the environment. Your environment, too.

It's the Chinese claims to the South China Sea that are one-sided. The Law of the Sea convention is very clear on overflight and navigation rights. China is in breach, not the USA.
2
Right back at ya.

Let me guess, you're the type that struggles to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Among dictatorial ones, sure.

@cssstylescommand4 In that case, China, as an eager holder of US treasury bonds, is keeping said money printer going.

@wanglei5500 The Cuban Missile Crisis didn't prove anything about the Law of the Sea. Do you think maritime patrol aircraft carry nuclear missiles? The US and Japan haven't been fussing about Chinese aircraft skirting their territory.

@jasperchance3382 Putler is Xi's lackey. Orders will suffice.

So you can have your very own Xi?

Freudian slips happen, as I mentioned earlier.

There are no trust issues there. With China and Russia, there are a lot, and deservedly so.

Putin is crying in his bunker.

China could stay out of a backyard called the South China Sea. Nomen est not omen.
1
How does this spell the end for Germany? If anyone's end is being spelled, it's Russia's. China is choosing money over Russia.

@happymelon7129 A Freudian slip, if there ever was one.
1
@casualsuede Freudian slips are per definition true 😄

Chinese EV manufacturers have been buying market share with state subsidies. I'd like to see how they'd do abroad when they're slapped with tariffs. Truth be told, Chinese EV busses have been put to use in public transport in Europe, but the results aren't promising. They seem to be plagued by design flaws and poor serviceability.
