@asdfghjkl92213 Even if India and the US were to qualify as failed states, aren't you generalizing a wee bit? There's a name for your logical fallacy: The Hasty Generalization Fallacy. I can't think of a better measure for success that the Human Development Index. China is at a shared 85th place and Vietnam at 118th. All the major developed countries, which also happen to be democracies, outscore both and by a wide margin at that.
