  1.  @carl94-h9h  The F-16s are long range artillery as it were. Air-launched stand-off weapons will reach further than surface-launched ones. That's how the Russians predominantly use their combat aircraft nowadays.

  2. We should ask the Turks. They bought the S-400 to counter their own(!) F-16s. Some sources report that Turkey is not happy with the S-400.

  3. The F-16s may not end the game, but they're game-changers all right. Russia has been forced to change its tactics many times over, whenever new Western weapons made their entrance. And nothing ever changed for the better for Russia.

  6.  @Aurleis  The Turks have discovered already that the S-400 does poorly against low-and-slow targets. It's overkill anyhow.
