You're right, I suppose no fragile egos were hurt this time.

I fail to see what the scoop here is. Has India been secretly at war with Africa and you've finally decided to kiss and make up? Or is an amicable hug more significant with Western leaders in attendance?

"Internal conflct generated by the indulge of the West"... sigh. If you want to gain the respect that you feel you're entitled to, you'd better snap out of that pitiful colonial mindset, where you blame all ills on former colonial masters, rather than take a cold, hard look in the mirror. To educate yourself, you could compile a list of countries that you consider "Western", tick the ones that engaged in colonialism and see which way the scale tips. Hint: it's not colonialism.

Read: you cannot risk annoying Russia because you think Russia is your BFF (but little do you know that Russia now has to be BFFs with China, which doesn't want its BFFs to be BFFs with India, too).

You shouldn't generalise. Russia's arms exports are seriously down, with even Russia's biggest customer, India, switching suppliers.

@devashisnanda3477 Fee free to explain why. If you can.

@arghya4NE The war in Ukraine is a major concern to the G20 because of the economic fallout alone. Famine is looming for Africa because of it. And it's not just Europe that kept raising the war. In fact, a worldwide majority of G20 members did. As I see it, Modi desperately needed to divert attention from India's fence-sitting in the conflict. The hoopla about the African Union joining G20 attests to that. It's a positive step of course, but it was possibly the least controversial decision made by the G20 this year. A year ago, Biden set the stage by publicly endorsing the idea. Modi, ever the populist, had to make it appear like he achieved a great feat, ramming the decision down the throats of evil Western powers despite their opposition. And you lap it up.

@arghya4NE You are lapping up Modi's populism. And as a nation, you've buried your head in the sand with regard to Ukraine. Unlike our climatic challenges, the war in Ukraine is easily ended. Putin can put a stop to it literally overnight, by withdrawing his troops in accordance with UNGA resolution ES-11/1. He won't, because India and China have thrown Russia a lifeline. In doing so, you've made yourselves part of the problem. How idiotic is that?
