@timonsolus OK, if the UK is no longer interested in solving the Palestinian question, let's pull the UK's permanent seat in the UNSC out from under it. It's time anyhow.

@AP-do6sv Russia's bases in Syria serve no offensive purposes any longer. They're in self-defence and evacuation mode. It wouldn't be beyond the rebels' abilities to force them to surrender.

@timonsolus Come on, the Commonwealth is a sports and culture club, and a fractitious one at that. I used to know a former British diplomat who had worked as a Commonwealth rep for years. He lamented that no good deed would go unpunished if it was proposed by the UK. India and Pakistan were the worst, according to him.

@johndthomas6837 Putin's defensive efforts? Russia unilaterally trying to maintain a sphere of influence by infringing on the sovereignty of its neighbours is plenty offensive. As a sovereign country, Ukraine has the right to strike alliances as it sees fit. In a few years' time, when Putin invades Alaska, will you console yourself -- while you sit on your hands -- that Putin made his intentions clear years ago, so it's a legit move.
