  3. Duh, even a child knows that the US backs Israel through thick and thin. It's been widely reported here and elsewhere how the US sabotages the UNSC with its vetoes. The US has vetoed draft resolutions that were backed by other Western UNSC members. Try to keep up with the news.

  5. That's all good and well, but the UN Charter also talks about the inherent right to collective self-defence. If Hezbollah persists with cross-border attacks and the Lebanese Armed Forces can't make it cease and desist, Israel has a case for exercising its right to self-defence. Sovereign nations need to police their own territory, or others will come and police it for them. Mind you, Israel has honed its bad cop routine to perfection.
