You're forgetting that any US sanctions against Germany will make the whole EU retaliate in kind. That's what trade blocs are for. So your junior partner/senior partner juxtaposition doesn't apply.

@AlternativeBrew I remember it well, but your point eludes me, assuming you had one to begin with. None of the other JCPOA signatories could change the US stance either. The learning is that it took only one to sabotage the Iran deal.

@AlternativeBrew You're sorely mistaken. France and the UK didn't "go a long[sic]" with Trump reneging on the Iran deal. They tried to save it, but then Iran broke the terms, effectively scuppering it. A propos, I thought you were trying to prove that "the Europeans" were in a subservient role vis-à-vis the US. Maybe you want to put some more thought into your arguments before you write them down?

@RoadstersRegistry Not true. There's a lot of US intellectual property that China licenses. The same goes for European IP. China can't export the products that leverage said IP to Russia if they fall under Western sanctions. If China flouts these newly-introduced export restrictions, it risks being sanctioned itself. It's interesting to see that some Chinese web shops have already stopped taking orders from Russia.
