@Michael Kopischke Actually, thousands and thousands of US tanks saw use on the Eastern Front. For instance, both the M3 Lee and M4 Sherman saw use in the Battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle ever and a decisive defeat for Germany. Your knowledge is spotty.

@Michael Kopischke Do your homework. Soviet preference for indigenous designs doesn't negate the fact that they threw everything into the fight that they could lay their hands on. You could check out the formations that took part in the Battle of Kursk and what they were equipped with. Wikipedia is a good start.

@pcsing2006 In order to stop the war, Putin must give up on annexing Ukrainian territory. You could give him some Chinese territory in compensation. Fair, no?

@narancauk Actually, the Airacobra performed rather well on the Eastern Front. With combat taking place at lower altitudes than elsewhere, it suddenly wasn't hampered by its lack of a turbocharger. The Soviets couldn't have enough of them. Some of the highest-scoring Soviet aces flew it, too.

@narancauk The Airacobra also had a massive cannon in the nose, its engine in the middle of the fuselage and a nose wheel. It flew well, was hard to shoot down and its serviceability was far superior to that of Soviet types. Soviet pilots liked it, German pilots respected it. Yet keyboard warrior narancauk, who's never been near an Airacobra, knows better. Not only that, he compares a fighter to a dedicated ground-attack aircraft, as if they're comparable. I call fanBOY!

@Michael Kopischke Now you're backtracking. It's not a question of ratios. You bombastically claimed that no US-made tanks fought on the Eastern Front. To keep it real, I corrected you. Thousands of M3 Lees and M4 Shermans saw combat in Soviet hands. Not tens of thousands, like T-34s, but thousands nonetheless. Man up and admit that you were wrong. Introducing one straw man argument after another won't help your case.

@narancauk The Airacobra did see combat with the *USAAF in the Pacific and the Med. The Americans didn't like the mediocre high-altitude performance of the Airacobra. Bell put a better engine in the follow-up P-63 Kingcobra, but it proved inferior to the P-51 Mustang, so the USAAF went with the latter. For reasons that remain unclear, the Soviets never took a liking to the Mustang. If you'd tone down the silly hyperbole, you could read all this online yourself.

@narancauk Now you're just trying to attract my attention. Go read a history book.
