The ammo is NATO-standard, made by Rheinmetall. Plenty in stock as it's being used on newer AA systems, too.

Don't be so sure. Russia used the comparable Shilka SPAAG to devastating effect in Chechnya, often obliterating ATGM teams before they could launch their missiles. It played a decisive role in the Battle of Grozny, where tank cannons lacked the elevation to target enemy combatants on rooftops.

It's not a laughing matter. The meagre contribution of the Russian Air Force in Ukraine has been a topic of much debate. Explanations such as a shortage of precision-guided ordnance and having to drop their dumb bombs from too great a height have been suggested. The Flakpanzers will help in keeping the Russian Air Force flying high, where they can do less damage.

Unless Russia's revamped Soviet-era aircraft have spontaneously developed stealth capabilities, the Flakpanzers still have a lot of life left in them. Even if they only force the Russians to fly higher, out of Flakpanzer range, they matter. More so than Western air forces, the Russian Air Force relies on dumb bombs, the accuracy of which is inversely proportional to the height from which they're dropped.
