@sirgo0se97 We both had an absolute monarch once. Still, we successfully transitioned to a parliamentary democracy without too much fuss. Forming a coalition is an art form, but well worth it, because it forces the parties to treat one another with respect. Today's opponents may be tomorrow's coalition partners.

France needs a Sixth Republic with proportional representation, just like the UK needs PR. A winner-take-all system leaves sore losers, who're drawn to extremism.
