@morphkuhani4081 The world has had its say.

You guys. Israel is a parliamentary republic where the president's role is mostly ceremonial.

@abba4844 Syria is still caught in a civil war. Who's the legitimate leader and who's not is still a matter of contention. The US legitimises its presence in Syria with Assad more or less tolerating ISIL's presence there, since Assad's forces were and still are mostly preoccupied with fighting the Syrian rebels instead. The same goes for the Russians, who're supposedly fighting ISIL, but keep forgetting.

@tomhenry897 You're barking up the wrong tree. The Palestinian Authority complies with the 1947 UN resolution that saw Israel being founded. It's Israel that flouts subsequent UN resolutions, the ban on illegal settlements on Palestinian land in particular.
2
It would appear you're new to this world. Everyone in the UNGA knows the resolution is non-binding.
2
@DaMatth You do know, right, that as a citizen of this world, you're part of the clown show?
2
You could set up a competing intergovernmental organisation, Friends of Krishna or some such, and organise the fun and games. Nah, you'd immediately start fighting with the Pakis and the Chinese. It'd be worse than the UN.
1
The UNSC has, in fact. But it's neutered by vetoes.
1
The UN has a long history. I take it you don't. Don't become a cynic at a young age. There's plenty of time for that later.
1
The obvious eludes you. The UN is powerless because of Russia's veto. If the world is bitterly divided, why wouldn't the UN be? By the way, I'm all for stripping Russia of its power of veto. Long overdue.

@umaiman3576 I don't see the EU on the list, which couldn't even be, because the EU has non-voting observer status in the UN. Very few EU countries on that list, too.
1
@rabbitbobo4131 You have a very optimistic understanding of the power of UNGA resolutions. They fall in the nice-to-know category.
1
Don't you feel co-responsible for the fiasco? I do.
1
@Momosblackdog Are you stateless?
1
@Momosblackdog It's elementary. As a citizen of a UN member, the UN's failures are ultimately your failures, too. Had you been stateless, you would've been free of blame.
1
@tomhenry897 I'm having a déjà vu moment. Bush's famous words "who's not with us is against us" backfired spectacularly on him in the Iraq War. It followed that practically everyone was against poor Dubya and his United States of Murica.
1
@markhill3858 Where's this all-conquering, all-powerful UN army that you speak of? I haven't seen any trace of it. UN peacekeepers, yes, but it appears there's no peace to keep here.
1
And what would take the place of the UN? A reanimated League of Nations or complete anarchy? It sounds like you're type that should never be let near a baby and bathwater without adult supervision.
