Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh: A 'sign of Moscow's weakness'? | DW News" video.
It is remarkable that Russia suffered yet another severe foreign policy setback with regard to its backyard, compounding the enduring one in Ukraine. Ukraine is lost to Russia forever, and now are both Armenia and Azerbaijan, too. It begs the question who's next to wriggle free from Russian overbearance.

Russia was supposed to keep the peace in Nagorno-Karabakh. Since "peace" has been conclusively "restored", Azerbaijan will kindly request Russia's "peacekeepers" to make themselves scarce. Russia's sphere of influence just shrank considerably. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan are out.

@claudiopereira9900 Who's we? For your info, I'm acting in my own capacity and speaking my own mind. Russia was no right to carve out its own sphere of influence and "defend" it as it sees fit. Influence is soft power -- something you earn, just like respect. No matter how you spin this, this no moment of glory for Russia. Putin's anti-NATO, the CSTO, can now officially be declared dead. Time of death was 23 September 2022.

@RedBlackDish Boots on the ground amount to influence. Not necessarily the good kind, like in this case -- or in Russia's many cases. Who said anything about payments in gold? If payments were made, Armenia may want a refund.
