  3. The colours must be a Soviet throwback. I can vouch that the Fenno-Russian border has red-green border posts on the Russian side. Seen it with my own eyes, I went skiing there two months ago.

Russia pushes migrants across the border, who may seek asylum in the Baltic states, but anyhoo they're likely to move on to greener pastures like the UK, Germany, Netherlands and Scandinavia. The UK in particular is heaven for illegal immigrants because of poor enforcement and plentiful 'black' job opportunities.
