  4. My Finnish granddad told similar stories. The Russians attacked across snowy fields, clad in brown overcoats, which made them stick out like sore thumbs. The machine gunners mowing them down had to be replaced regularly, because they were sickened by the wholesale slaughter. He once dryly commented that on his 21st birthday he became a serial killer.
