  1. Well, mostly for historical reasons, the UK is in the UNSC as a permanent member. India's spinelessness will impede its bid for a permanent seat.

  2.  @prathit7541  Oh, we will see all right. The UNSC doesn't need another permanent member that looks the other way when the UN Charter is brazenly broken. And although India was decolonised, the colonial mindset still seems to linger in India.

  4.  @futuroluxo  The UN, flawed as it may be, is the only true international forum we've got. We could all send emissaries to a clearing in your jungle to agree on what little we can agree on, but that's not very practical.

  5.  @spiritualwarrior7627  Sure, I think it poetic justice if the UK were to make way for India as a permanent member of the UNSC. But in order for that to happen, India needs to show it has a functioning moral compass and that it's not subservient to anyone.

  8.  @YOUTUBE_AMERICA  What am I missing here? Wasn't the OP juxtaposing Europe with the rest of the world? FYI, even with a brutal war being fought in Ukraine and scores of displaced Ukrainians sheltering in our midst, most of our refugees ("refugees") are non-European.
