  3.  @FroddeB  France got rid of their monarchy in a rather drastic fashion a long time ago, but it hasn't hurt tourism. France is consistently the world's top destination for tourists. It appears it's not about who's inside the palaces, but the palaces themselves.

  5.  @ulrikjensen6841  What exactly is the great attraction of a monarchy? Income from tourism? France literally cut off the problem at the head, and it's raking it in like no other.
