@mrjerzheel Actually, Soviet arms were divvied up among the former Soviet republics after the dissolution of the USSR. Why would nuclear arms be an exception? Ukraine had a legal claim, just like Russia. Incidentally, among the conventional weapons that Ukraine inherited from old Soviet stocks were Tu-22 bombers and Kh-22 cruise missiles. Had Ukraine kept them, too, it could have repaid Russia in kind and fired the missiles at shopping malls and apartment buildings in Russia proper. Maybe Russia would've thought twice before targeting Ukrainian civilians.
