  1. ​​ @literalmountgod  Probably. We did start a few too many ourselves in recent decades. (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.) And also got involved in others that had little or nothing to do with us (Korea, Vietnam, and so on). But we mustn't forget that it was because of the American military that Europe still remains (largely) free of fascist rule. If nothing else, we should maintain a powerful defense to ensure that authoritarianism never takes hold by force over some of the freest and most prosperous societies on Earth. I'm a leftie, but I also believe WWII was a just war and that we must always be prepared to defend democracy, by diplomacy if possible or subversion and armed conflict if necessary.

  2. ​ @Cinoth  I do too. Bernie is old, but at least he still has his faculties intact. For how much longer, no one knows. But one thing is certain: Biden's not getting any better. If it's this bad now, imagine what it will be like in almost 6 years after he finally leaves office (if re-elected). For the good of the Democratic party and the country, he should announce that he will not run in 2024. Give rising stars, like my Governor Gavin Newsom, a chance to hammer Trump next year.
