  1. Fossil fuels are predicted to run out in the next 100 years anyway. So even if you happen to be one of those ignoramuses who believe that climate change is a hoax (or that its potential consequences are wildly overblown), we would still have to contend with substituting coal, oil, and natural gas with some form of renewable energy --- if we want to maintain modern civilization, that is. And why not start now?
