  1. Resisting arrest is one thing; it should not immediately result in the death penalty. (That isn't to say it isn't insanely stupid, of course.) Firing a taser at a cop carrying a gun while attempting to flee, on the other hand, goes beyond simple noncompliance. As much as it pains me to say so, the cop did what he had to do.
