This legislation is ESSENTIAL. Gerrymandering is UNDEMOCRATIC, Election Day should be made a federal holiday like it is in every other developed country, these sorry attempts at voter supression (such as that cruel and indefensible Georgia law that bans handing out water to people waiting in long voter lines) need to be STOPPED, and I also believe that access to DMV services needs to be ramped up so a non-discriminatory federal Voter I.D. law can be passed. No more purging people from the voter rolls for not voting often enough, or closing the registration window MONTHS before an election, or forcing EVERYONE to vote in just a handful of polling places (in some cases it even has to be in the same district which you live), which NO OTHER developed country on the planet does! Enough is enough! Abolish (or reform) the filibuster and get this passed so the voices of the American people CAN BE HEARD!. If you're against this legislation, you're against democracy itself. PERIOD!

@karenc560 You live in California (as do I). Good for you. Not sure if you realize this, but approximately HALF the states in this country (25, if you can do math) are not run by Democrats, wherein mail-in voting is not an option unless you have a legitimate medical exemption. This last election was an exception because of the pandemic. I know it sounds absurd, but it's the truth. You want every state to operate like California? So do I! Which is exactly why I'm in favor of the For The People Act! Go figure!!

@luisadorno200 The same news network that smeared Bernie Sanders and ran endless puff pieces for that milktoast neoliberal warhawk Hillary Clinton? Yeah, "socialist" my @ss 🙄

But why? Our Constitution-enshrined postal service does a pretty good job, don't they? Why make it more difficult for people to vote, especially when many of them have to work and Election Day isn't a federal holiday like it is in almost every other developed country? What are you afraid of?
