She's just pointing out a problem. Liberals (of which I count myself as one) believe they can solve racial disparities in educational success by instituting affirmative action. This is like putting a band-aid on your arm after it has been chopped off by a chainsaw. It's actually making it worse, because now Black and Hispanic students are placing higher in universities than they otherwise would, and they aren't adequately prepared for the rigor demanded of them. Hence, this is the result. They have the highest drop-out rate of any ethnic group, and it's no coincidence. We should be addressing the problem at the elementary level instead, not bandaging it up after they have already graduated from high school. Affirmative action isn't the answer; the inner-city schools need more funds!!!
