Comments by "Daily Wire Third Stringer" (@DailyWireThirdStringer) on "What is Juneteenth?" video.
I'm quite surprised they had the guts to mention the venerable Abraham Lincoln in this video. He represented the greatness of the Republican Party and all that it stands for, and still does to this day. I will never be in favor of going to war, but the Civil War was so much more than just a nation fighting itself. It was a fight for basic human rights. It's too bad some uneducated protestors vandalized the Lincoln Memorial just recently. They do not understand how revolutionary his actions were to all black Americans, and had he not been assassinated he surely could have accomplished so much more. A real tragedy that was, as was the case for JFK as well. Both of them are American heroes and deserve to have their legacies honored, not tarnished. Happy Juneteenth everyone.

@mrhimselfalone7657 The Republican party was formed as a direct opposition to slavery. That was their platform. They "replaced" the Whigs because the latter had no opinion on slavery at all. That's why when Lincoln was elected in 1860 South Carolina seceded in protest, because now (along with the entrance of California as a free state) the federal government had the power to outlaw slavery. And of course, most of the South joined them and they formed the Confederate States of America. Despite his party's aspirations, the main objective of President Lincoln was to reunite the United States of America. If that meant keeping the custom of slavery, then so be it. But to him, the ultimate victory was to bring the southern states back into the Union while simultaneously abolishing slavery, which against all odds he eventually accomplished. Hence why he's ranked by almost every US historian as the greatest President in our nation's history. His legacy still stands to this day.

@mrhimselfalone7657 I can understand the affliction of the colored community. Obviously there are racists in this country (they're nowhere near as numerous as the media might make them seem) and they have political affiliations (on both sides). However, the vast majority of conservatives (and everyone I know who accepts that label) are NOT racist. Many of them (perhaps most of them) are believers in the Bible to one extent or another; however, that does not mean they are racist. I've yet to hear or read a Scripture that explicitly establishes white (or other racial) dominion over every other race of man. I bet if you ask any Republican (except for the fringe groups I told you about) if all men are created equal in the eyes of God, their answer would be an unequivocal yes. To insinuate that the party of Abraham Lincoln has suddenly transformed itself into the party of racism within the context of the current political climate is just absurd. They have been (and hopefully always will be) pro-equality and anti-special treatment.
