Except this individual wasn't following the school bus, he/she was driving in the opposite direction. But generally speaking, that is good advice.

How in the world did the driver not see the child trying to cross the street? It's not like she was going around the back of the bus so she wouldn't be seen until the driver was passing right in front of her. This person must have been beyond distracted, or not in his/her right mind (e.g. DUI, falling asleep).

@abigailwilliams8889 I don't think that it's reasonable for everyone to be aware that they are driving towards a school bus, and to start slowing down well before the bus has stopped. If that were the case, then everybody would have to go 15 mph when passing one, which I don't think is something that can be enforced.
