@Prakal Parashar America is not the world's police force. We could be invading dozens of other countries to end human rights violations (our ally Saudi Arabia comes to mind), but we don't. Why? Because in principle promoting progress through diplomacy is much more preferable than military intervention. It's that simple.

@billyjean8057 The idiocy of this comment is palpable. First of all, the Taliban controls even MORE territory now than they did when the war began. So clearly our operations in the region have been a total failure if our goal was to shrink their influence (but obviously I don't believe that's the case at all). Second, we got the guy who orchestrated the attacks on September 11th, 2001 TEN YEARS AGO! Al-Qaeda doesn't even exist anymore! So what are we still doing there?! "BuT tHe WoMeN aNd GirLs" Okay, so are we going to invade every single country that is committing human rights violations at this very second? Or even the ones that are suppressing the equality of women? Of course not! It's none of our business, and at most we should have stayed only until we took care of homeboy Osama Bin Laden. And finally, the word you're looking for is "reigning," not "raining." 🤦‍♂️

@OMFGTrexKyle No one chooses where they're born. It's not our responsibility to ensure that our standards of living are being met in other countries around the world. We should look after OUR OWN first. Half a million people are still sleeping on our streets, yet we want to continue spending billions on conducting operations that kill innocent civilians halfway around the world? I don't think so. Our military was intended to be a defense ("provide for the common defense," as listed in the Preamble), NOT the world's police force. Accept the fact that the mission is over and move on. We're losing the war, so it's not like the Taliban is close to being eliminated anyway. We're not staying there another 20 years. It's already America's longest war, there's no way in hell we're gonna double it. Pull out now.

@K11-s1i Yes, America first. Instead of spending money on the military and foreign aid (e.g. to Israel), we address our homelessness crisis, our crumbling infrastructure, and our ineffectual healthcare system. Does it all make sense now?
