  1. As bad as the Taliban is, they are not a terrorist organization. We went into Afghanistan to combat Al-Qaeda, not the Taliban. We chopped the head off the snake a decade ago. Why are we still there? To protect women and girls? Our top ally in the region is freakin' SAUDI ARABIA! Don't hit me with that load of nonsense. No, it was all about geopolitics, revenue from illicit drug sales (why else would we guard the opium poppy fields?), and satisfying Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, and all the others in the military-industrial complex. The Taliban is a symptom of radical Islam, which can only be reformed from within. There is nothing more we can do to help. Sorry.
