  2. As everyone else is pointing out, there are a lot of peculiarities about this situation. First, assuming the issue was brake failure, wouldn't the car have stopped itself eventually if she let off the accelerator? Second, assuming she was driving an automatic, why couldn't she just shift it into neutral and let it coast to a stop? Were none of these things possible solutions? I need more information. This driver is either lying or very incompetent, as is the operator.
