Roger Wilco You missed my point. You can conceal a knife much more easily than an AR-15 assault rifle, for example. You walk into the mall carrying that, there's a good chance someone will see you (given that the place isn't deserted). A knife however, that can be concealed in one's pocket with ease. The specific scenario you are referring to is a rather unlikely one, as the shooter was able to sneak in full-blown suitcases into his hotel room and open fire into a crowd of people gathered immediately outside for a festival. The design of the event is partially to blame here, such a thing would be much more difficult to pull off if they gathered in a more popular venue like a coliseum instead (for a concert, football game, etc.)

Roger Wilco And tell me how many times someone has actually accomplished that? Yeah, exactly ZERO. The Las Vegas incident was a unique case because a crowd of THOUSANDS were gathered right across the street from a hotel that had virtually no security measures whatsoever. How about instead of stripping away CONSTITUTIONAL rights from law-abiding citizens, we first try not organizing such an event in the first place? Burning Man, for example, works because it doesn't place a TOWER right next to a crowd of people where someone can get the right angle and kill hundreds. Why don't we consider holding events at SECURE FACILITIES before we start a civil war by taking everyone's guns away? OH MY GOD, SUCH A NOVEL IDEA!!!

@soulscanner66 Well no one is denying that. I'm just making the claim that knives are easier to conceal and are therefore a more convenient murder weapon.

@soulscanner66 What gun owner has ever denied the right to peaceably assemble to anyone? Am I missing something? Donald Trump doesn't allow guns at his rallies because he's the President, (you know, the most powerful person on Earth) and there are millions of people who would like to see a bullet in his head. Need I bring up Lincoln, Garfield, or John Fitzgerald Kennedy?

@elmanatidepuertorico6179 Yeah real preachy, except for the fact that three-quarters of the world's population doesn't believe that Jesus is Lord, and some are even willing to go to war for it. Oh, and governments aren't known to be too benevolent to their citizens at times.

@deborahfreedman333 I'm not talking about handguns. This whole debate was about rifles (though shotguns could be thrown in there as well).
