@alexweiss388 Oh, and keep parroting the lame, debunked Fox News talking points that somehow Communism and Socialism are the exact same thing. They aren't. If you want to see what REAL "socialism" looks like, pay a visit to Sweden or Denmark. Not only has the government there never taken anyone's life (unlike here where the death penalty is still legal), but they provide the services necessary to PROLONG the lives of their citizens and enrich it. But I can't expect someone as brainwashed as you to be even remotely educated on the benefits of socialism, as opposed to Communist totalitarian regimes.

@ullerivas2755 I didn't take the AP exam. I wanted to focus my attention on two other examinations instead (Environmental Science and Language & Composition) so I had a better chance of passing them. And I did.

@ullerivas2755 Unfortunately, I had other priorities at the time (like an online French class and golf competitions), so it wasn't worth the $80-90 to do so. Plus, I greatly enjoyed learning from my professor when I took it again in college.

Perhaps you should open a political science textbook and learn something. You might even discover that everything you've been taught was wrong. It's almost like you've been fed propaganda. The equivalent of the claptrap you're spewing all over the Internet would be comparing Trump and the Republican Party with Hitler and Pinochet. I don't make those comparisons, yet somehow you think Sweden and the USSR are even remotely alike. Their efforts should be primarily focused on ending the drug war, especially following the tragic deaths of people like Breonna Taylor. Bill Gates, on the other hand, I will defend until the day I die, or until I'm presented with evidence that his intentions aren't truly altruistic. But he's no Marxist. Please, if you have a primary source that proves this declaration incorrect, I would love to see it.

@ullerivas2755 Yep. I hardly learned anything in my AP Bio class the entire year, and decided to take the test anyway. BSed my way through the written section (and must have performed very poorly by my standards on the multiple choice), and still scraped away with a 4.

@ullerivas2755 Seriously? Is that even a question? They want to police your speech. Canada (which is super hard left compared to USA) was on the brink of passing a bill that would make it a CRIME to "misgender" someone. And for most Canadians that went too far. Free speech and the First Amendment doesn't matter to them, because they'll cheer on a social media company every time they kick someone they don't agree with off their platform (like Alex Jones or the previous President). There are tons of other examples, from slandering anyone who dares to assert that terrorism is religiously motivated as "Islamophobic" (like my buddy Sam Harris) to literally asking for mandatory gun buybacks on assault weapons. Oh, and let's not forget that some of them will scorn you if you drive a gas-powered car and want to take that away too. And of course, they demand that anyone identifying as "female" (regardless of what the SCIENCE says) should be allowed to compete in women's sports. It's absurdity of the highest degree, and they're utterly destroying the reputation of the real libertarian left who want to see this country meet the standards of much of Northern Europe without stripping everyone's freedoms away.

@ullerivas2755 Oops, I forgot two more things: they want to push Critical Race Theory in schools (e.g. the 1619 Project) and actually want to give preferential treatment to people based on their skin tone. It's goes by the name "affirmative action."

@ullerivas2755 Let me be clear: admissions to a university (say) should be entirely merit-based. Race, sex, sexual orientation, or any other immutable characteristic should NOT be a factor. Period. Same thing for jobs and hiring. The whole point of the Civil Rights Act was to FIGHT discrimination, but some hard leftists want to bring it back. Their reasoning for doing so escapes me entirely. And I get that Twitter, Facebook, etc. are private companies and can (technically) do whatever they want, but if I had the choice I would regulate them like public utilities because of the sheer amount of influence they exert on our culture. Being able to use their services has become just as important as speaking to other people face-to-face. More so even, because of the potential for such a wide audience. The principle of the First Amendment should be applied here as well, without a doubt. And finally, I support "common sense" gun control (although I'm not a huge fan of that phrase). That means universal background checks, an assault weapons ban, and red flag laws. "Common sense," to me, does NOT include having the military show up at people's doorstep and forcing them to forfeit their semi-automatic in exchange for cash. That's authoritarian. The cat's already out of the bag. The law-abiding ones will comply, while those who were seeking to cause harm anyway will not. It doesn't solve the problem. We have to pursue other solutions instead, like expanding access to mental health clinics. Taking everyone's guns away (or at least just the assault weapon types) will create more harm than good. That I can be sure of. I'm in full support of nationalizing healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the form of a single-payer system. Absolutely without question--it's frankly humiliating that we're the only developed country on Earth that hasn't taken this step. The entire Western world is laughing at us, and for good reason. We let our people die because they can't afford insulin. It's criminal.
