Beaches are very overrated. Some coarse sand with sea junk and sometimes trash sticking out of it and ice cold salty water. I've lived in California my whole life, I've been to my fair share of beaches. Perhaps in Hawaii where the water is warmer, clearer, and the sand is a little more white in coloration would going to a beach be worthwhile. Maybe our beaches just suck, I don't know. Either way, in Cali the only redeeming factor (if you're not a surfer and you're not there to get a tan) is the view.
