  1. You know what, I don't disagree with that. But if you want to go down that road, all other developed countries also make Election Day a federal holiday so people can take time off work to vote. Not in America. There's also nothing like gerrymandering, where politicians can literally draw up districts to rig our democracy. Both of those would have been solved in this bill. If the very same bill passed both houses and became law with an ID requirement added, I would be ecstatic beyond measure. We're not forced to choose between "safeguarding" our democracy (which gerrymandering directly counteracts) and expanding voting rights. We can do both.

  3. The fact that this man isn't sitting on the Supreme Court at this very moment is frankly a shameful disgrace to the democracy the Founding Fathers created. If you're willing to defend the Republicans' actions on this, and simultaneously stand by their actions at the tail-end of 2020 as well, I want nothing to do with you. You aren't American. Simple as that.
