  1. It’s a vastly different situation. East Germany never had a hereditary autocracy whose survival depends on no unification. Even if Jong dies, China won’t allow a unification. And Willy Brandt’s policy was driven by greed on both sides. Not ideals. I hope I’m wrong and they do unify.
