Take comfort in the fact that Putin’s power structure and control is collapsing and being washed away just like the flood plains in Ukraine, BUT the flood will recede within 5-10 days while the chaos rises ever higher in Russia. Sadly, this won’t help the millions of animals that will die as a result of Russia’s destruction of the dam. We will be long dead before remediation of the damage done to the Impacted areas is even half way done.

  2. Peter Zeihan is fairly clueless and uninformed. The primary reasons to do this was to cut off a major potential avenue of approach for the Ukrainian CO, to delay the CO in other areas by drawing away resources from the avenues unaffected, to try to deter/scare Ukraine and the allies from trying to retake the occupied territories. They also want to change the demoralizing narrative of an upcoming, unstoppable CO and the collapse of their own territories.
