@bespalovss yes. For example, USS Olympia is a protected cruiser with armor on the conning tower, turrets, and protective deck, but no vertical belt.

@novafloresca7758 typically, the crew is interned along with the ship. Graf Spee's crew spent the rest of the war in Argentina. Any number of bomber crews spent their war in Sweden or Switzerland after landing and being interned there. B29 crews that landed in the USSR after bombing Japan were interned until the USSR declared war on Japan.
