  3. Hitler was Catholic. Stalin was raised as an Orthodox Christian. He got rid of religion as a means of psychologically stripping people of their identifiers. That made them easier to run his own program. Considering the fact that Zedong was Han and a member of the Mao family, odds on, he was Taoist or Buddhist (Many Buddhists don't believe in a god but Taoists definitely have deities). I can also imagine that there was Tao/Shinto tension (there always has been with the religions) with Japan too.
