Nonsense. Doctors aren't doing it for the money. Doctors ARE volunteering their time & services if they have an opportunity. Do you even know any MDs or DOs personally?

The free market is NOT superior to anything. The free market is merely the free market. Our health care was NOT at the top of the chain either. You need to actually take a look at the HMO act. It actually overloaded providers, rather, it prompted providers to carry more patients in the interest of money. That's when things went south. Thanks for helping prove my point.

There IS no difference. That's the fundamental problem with that argument. You're whining about how the money is spent. I never said that profit was morally tainted so put away that strawman. I said that maintaining the health of the public is not a business, it's a human imperative. "Aggressing against other"? That's a nice example of elocution but it doesn't mean anything. Again, stop whining.

Either way YOU aren't paying for anything, you're paying your taxes. Quit whining about it. As much money gets wasted on other nonsense why are you worrying about THIS?

Actually it does benefit him. A healthy environment is ALWAYS a benefit. In terms of less time missed from work, better quality of products & services & less of a chance of taking sick himself. It's all connected. Either way, you're not "paying for strangers' health". Your tax dollars will be going into your neighbor having better access to health care.

The individual IS contributing by paying taxes. Actually, I HAVE contributed to my neighbor's health care. I didn't use all my FSA money so it went back into to funding for Denver Health. I'm okay with that. Either way, the "free market" is not the answer to anything much less health care. Health care isn't a for-profit endeavor; it's a humanitarian effort. How does me paying for my neighbor's kids Augmentin keep my kids from getting sick & passing it onto me? You answer that.

Well put. But there's food stamps. You're not complaining. There's gov't subsidies for farmers. No peeps from you. There's a choice in foods too, you can buy gov't issue food; it's a public option. You ain't said shit about that though. Your argument is quickly losing traction. Ultimately though, food is a renewable resource & theoretically, you don't have to pay for it. You can plant seeds, save them & replant them. You can raise livestock too. Traction gone.

Nice list. But it's still meaningless. People don't go to med school, nursing school or allied health schools for money. They do it because they want to help. Health care's primary objective is not to make money. That's why your free market application is useless in this case.
