  1. Like our friend cellarlife said, they aren't in the same league. Some idiot can vanity publish his own prose but that don't make him James Joyce. With Obama, his ability to write isn't really in question (unless you're insane). Even if he tends to be non-committal & callow at times, he's clearly a bright man; a decorated doctor of a professional discipline. Palin on the other hand, is evidently a dim bulb; a woman who CLEPed juco classes for a BA. She's a backwoods yokel.

  2. Yeah she's got a degree. She CLEPed together her credits from 1/2 dozen community colleges. She's got a sheepskin. I recognize that. But journalism's a major in college; a degree. That doesn't necessarily mean she possesses the practical skill as a writer. I wouldn't be shocked if she couldn't conjugate a verb let alone understand derivative economics.

  3. At best, that's a false equivalency... or maybe a sports team-like sense of fanaticism. Obama writing a book & Palin writing a book are not the same thing. Appreciation of either author's book in turn, is not the same thing.

  4. Uh, that's because President Obama's were written by a Harvard Law grad (himself). They were reflective tales about his life & times. There was some actual substance. Are you pretending that Sarah Palin has ANY substance at all? Get real. Your argument is 1 of false equivalency.

  5. Don't get me wrong. She's obviously got some innate shrewdness about herself. No questioning that. I'd even go so far as to call her crafty. She parlayed her good looks into something very powerful. But she's not a writer (Obama wrote the HAR VARD LAW RE VIEW). Let's call it what it is. She's provincial. Obama's life experiences make for a more substantial read than Caribou Barbie's tales of moose hunts & screwing McCain out of the White House.
