  1.  @devinmccrone5570 sure, but once the territory is marked and succesfully defendable, it’s in the species own interest to maintain it’s ecosystem, to balance out what it takes with what is durably provided. Otherwise, they develop in what we call plagues, like swarms of grasshoppers. And the ‘developed’ part of the world can’t survive as it is, isn’t in balance with it’s environment, swarms out and destroys everything on it’s path. And for China, they now just mirror what the ‘west’ has been doing for decades, centuries. And now they are to blame? If the west is serious about it’s devine capitalism, it should welcome China for becoming an equal player and for not wanting to remain the slave laborers of the west. I hope Bolivia, Chili, Congo, Ukrain, an dozens of other countries find their own value soon and stand up against this neo colonialist capitalism. And that the ‘west’ will have the decency an humility to allow it and not interfere.

  2. I think you’re right. But not as it is used now here in Belgium (and many other parts of the world), as a base load, because that stands in the way of wind and solar. Nuclear should take over the task of coal and gas: filling the gaps.

  3. And there are alternatives for storing energy: heath mass, pumped hydro, … batteries sure come first to mind, but not always needed.
