The lack of chivalry culture seems to be a common reason why Japanese women are put off from Japanese men; can't even count how many videos I see where they talk about seeing Westerners hold doors open for women or pull seats out for them on dates and wish Japanese men were like that

@trashman4444 he's not wrong, Japan, like Germany, is a colonized US territory. Americans love to talk about ending colonialism and slavery while expanding these practices via military bases and global financial/corporate control. Majority of Japan's problems are due to what US did to them after the war

@lonebeagle you're equating doing something new with it being inherently better. West has been in a constant state of trying to be "progressive" to the point that we are destroying great cultures, races and the planet itself

@HYDRAdude very true, unless you are hyper liberal you are not free in the West since that is the ideology of the elite class

"Japanese people imo are afraid of being criticized rather than being cold hearted " yeah I think this is true for most North East Asians (Koreans, Japanese, Chinese); they come off as shy/risk-advertent people but I don't see them as inherently cold (coming from a Canadian, we have a lot of Asians here) Tan-in-jir-o-oo <3

@fangiscool1 yeah explains "Paris Syndrome", a type of mental breakdown Japanese tourists get when visiting Paris and realizing it's not what they've been sold in anime (aka Paris is majority non-European now, dirty, crime ridden and very Americanized)

@princejaxisblack8789 the majority white coastal and mid-Western towns are still really safe and the people are generally nice but if you are in the cities it can be dangerous
