The striking part is that 5L in a year of used oil is recycled is much better than 5L dumped into the atmosphere. I am amused with some manufacturers claiming 30k miles oil change interval/2 years in their cars like VW and Daimler gasoline cars. But I think it is the same reason, they will be fine until 60k miles before going to junk yards.

Burning oil and smoke the air are way more poluting. The catalytic converter also degrades

Thanks a lot for letting us know about what oil dealership used. The calculation is spot on. 10 L per year no leaks is still less oil than 15L with oil burning 1 L per 10k miles, the spec for oil consumption set by most manufacturers. Those 10L went to atmosphere and catalytic converter. I am glad I did my own oil change with 0W20 on 2Zr-FXE and still 0 oil consumption at 75k miles. $30 Oil and filter per months is only $300 in 10 year than 10k miles interval.

AMSOIL is an MLM type of business. It is a good product but not cost-effective at all. Amsoil could be 5% better than Pennzoil Platinum, Mobil1, or Castrol Edge but costs 2x and does not make sense.
