I guess i must be braindead then for voting brexit. I voted brexit for the same reasons i support ukraine now. I support democracy and their right to retain it along with their freedom to exist as a nation. The UKs MEPs elected by the people were not representing the people. Unelected EU commisioners were. Creating the policies and the "peoples representatives" were there just to rubberstamp them through. Thats not democracy. However if the brexit vote had gone the other way then i would have accepted it and respected the peoples decision. Unlike some. I also respect all EU europeans if they choose to live in a more federal society. After all, they were all subjegated 80 odd years ago. The uk never was so perhaps thats why we are more protective of our democracy than others.

@adamiskandar5107 Why should i show respect to putins fascism when i can show respect to a democracy and all the freedoms associated with it in the US. Fascism v democracy is a non contest. Also i could have sworn we were living in peace until some dictator decided to invade and reinvent the USSR.

Nato expansion isnt as it sounds. Countries have to apply to join it, not forced/coerced. They did so because they were shit scared of being invaded by putin. Recent events prove they were right to be so.

@timmyt8504 They were. In the hague. All sides were charged. Some were convicted and some were acquited. Get over it. Stop stoking nationalism.

@16vjtdalfa You got evidence of EU leaders saying that? The hungarian one maybe. But many?

@SuperbizonR Nah your a troll.

@kristina-tl8ro NATO intervened to prevent more genocide and to bring milosevic to the negotiating table. Both him and karodicz were later convicted at the hague for encouraging ethnic cleansing. Many were charged later, from all sides, with war crimes. Many were convicted and many also acquited. Vucic the current president was involved at the time too. As ive seen a quote of him at the time saying kill one serb and we will kill 100 muslims. Typical nationalist if true. Cold hearted, unforgiving and selfish to the core.

@thejoker2214 Instrumentalised by the USA? So the ukranian people had nothing to do with maidan then. Those same ukranians that voted 92% to be independant from a union with russia in 1991. With all the oblasts voting in favour including donbas and crimea. Nothing to do with putin puppet yanukovych scrapping a union with the EU for one with the very country they voted to leave in 1991.. Also jailing his main political opponent yulia tymoshenko.. Those same ukranians that rose up in 2004 in the orange revolution against that same puppet yanukovych. Were the americans involved then as well? I tell you who has been interfering all along in ukraine and thats your little dicktator putin as he never recognised that 1991 vote. Despite all the world nations recognising ukraine as an independant sovereign state, included russia. His aim is to recreate the old soviet empire again. And he is now doing what all fascist dicktators have done historically to achieve that aim and invade a peaceful neighbour. Beginning in 2014 supporting proxies militarily and now a a full on invasion. And just like hitler did he uses propaganda both at home and abroad to create and justify it all. Suffering of the serbs? NATO intervened to prevent the serbs ethnic cleansing policy its forces were committing and to bring milosevic to the negotiating table. Later both him and karadzic were convicted of approving and committing the policy of ethnic cleansing at the hague. Also many others, from all sides, were charged with similar offences.Some were convicted and some acquited. Nationalism is the real evil in all this. You can still love your country and its culture without being a militant nationalist like hitler, mussolini, putin, milosevic etc..

@covfefe1787 Those ukraine ethnic russian border areas have had 20 odd years of putin state tv broadcast to them since he came to power. In 1991 all the oblasts and regions voted in favour of leaving the union with russia to become an independant sovereign state. 92% voted in favour overall. So many ethnic russians voted for it too. Lets just say i believe that propaganda is putins most potent weapon. He uses it to manipulate his people, and others like in those ethnic russian speaking areas of ukraine. To install nationalistic values and create the ethnic division for all of this shit to now occur. Tbf its been incredibly successful not just in russias sphere of influence but also in the west as people are generally nationalistic in nature and his RT etc propaganda seems to chime to many unfortunately. Many seem to support its anti western democratic narrative.

@vencik_krpo Well said. Exactly my thoughts. Putins worldwide propaganda with RT etc has been using one of the wests freedoms against us for the last 20 odd years. Namely, freedom of expression. Promoting nationalism and denegrating democracy whenever it can. Unbelievably many are being duped by it. Even from the political left. UK ex labour leader corbyn has appeared on it. Salmond ex leader of the SNP was actually hosting a show on it the day of the invasion. Apparently he wants to go back to it after the war is over.

When youve had state funded putin tv propaganda broadcast into those ethnic russian border areas for the last 20 years since putin came to power. Then internal strife is bound to occur. Same as happened in ukraines border areas. Creating the ethnic and political division that has caused all the shit happening there now. Putins propaganda is his most potent weapon and still is imho.

It does make sense to putin as he wants a new ussr which previously had no connection to the democratic west either. Maybe he wants a capitalist/communist economy, if such a thing can exist in reality.. Deffo no democracy tho. He hates that more than he hates NATO and the USA..
