Whenever i have had a run in with a pro putin serb online its always natos actions during milosevics time that they bring up. They seem to have conveniently forgotten the reasons nato intervened. Milosevic and others ending up being convicted for them at the hague. The bombing was brutal but so was the ethnic cleansing and ultimately it did end the killing and bring milosevic to the negotiating table. Russia backed serbia at that time so thats why some there back putin now, especially as nato is involved in helping ukraine defend itself. Nationalism exists in every country unfortunately. Serbian nationalists are not the only ones supporting putin..Nationalists from all over support him as he has managed to get his pro nationalist narrative out to them through his worldwide media RT etc over the last 20 years or so. Before he came to power RT, or back then, "russia today" was a gentle pro russian culture channel.
