@moocowdad, I played hockey a lot of hockey too. I’m amazed that this hasn’t happened more often. When they first reported this, they said that it was a “Slashing incident “ and I immediately thought of the stick blade, knowing how players customize their sticks.

@carolblogs, I remember, I could be wrong, back in the 1970’s a player from the Boston Bruins, I think that his name was Greene, used his stick to check another player, I think that he was a Flyer, and raised his stick over his head, swinging downward and clocked the guy, who died. I think that the NHL changed some rules about slashing after that. It’s been awhile so I might be wrong
