@Mark Clampet, I thought that only the tactical frequencies could be encrypted. The FCC didn’t allow the public ones to be. I use broadcastify and I have pretty good coverage. But I don’t know for sure how this all works

@Mark Clampet, I’m in western Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh and I just spoke with someone about this, since your first post. Does Phase 2 digital trunked simulcast P25 radio system, sound familiar? That’s what they want to do here. Yesterday the Pittsburgh Police Department received 17 million dollars in fed money for “public safety improvements “ that’s probably one of the things they want to change. I wouldn’t have thought about it if I hadn’t seen your post
