If the purpose of en-echelon wing turrets was to allow cross-deck firing, then why'd the Minas Geraeses, whose high, uninterrupted superstructure made cross-deck firing impossible, use en-echelon wing turrets, given that this required a somewhat-longer ship and would've placed additional torsional stresses on the ships' structure?
