  6.  @Frb7-q3k  The premise is wrong since those are not "their countries", they were born in France and are thus French citizens. I'm sure they are more proud about their lineage, which is normal unless you hate yourself, than those countries as political identities

  9.  @phoque121  Yes but how do you gauge that "identify as French", you have them read something? You do have rules for both becoming a French citizen and a permanent resident, it's a matter of them fulfilling the requirements or not.

Do Europeans do that when they move abroad? Integration is being a law abiding citizen, not leaving native culture totally behind

  34. They can be proud of both, it's pretty common among dual citizens. But it would help if most people from the hosting country didn't treat them like 2nd class citizens.
